As a new chapter of TV Patrol continues, two new faces grace the screen. Migs and Ariel join the roster of anchors that will deliver timely news reports every night for Filipinos.

Ariel Rojas: Most qualified resident meteorologist

As Kim Atienza bid farewell to Kapamilya’s flagship national newscast, Ariel on December 13 taken over the task of sharing weather reports and forecasts. The new resident meteorologist is perhaps the most qualified ever. For four years, Ariel worked as a weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA).

As a PAG-ASA scholar, Ariel earned his Master’s Degree in Meteorology from the University of the Philippines.

For Ariel, understanding the weather should be an important part of every Filipino’s lives. He takes his profession seriously considering that many lives could be affected with his reports.

He said, “Minsan, hindi natin na-appreciate ’yung ibang weather systems kasi hindi tayo naapektuhan.

Nagti-tweet lang ang tao na ‘Baha!’ o ‘Walang pasok!’ kapag directly affected tayo.

But for other people in other parts of our country, it could be life or death. It made me realize how important my job was. Binigay Niya (God) sa akin ’yung perspective na: ‘Take your job seriously, kasi people’s lives depend on you.’”

Migs Bustos: New face, new segment

Migs now hosts the newest segment on TV Patrol “Uso at Bago,” which tackles the latest on technology, gadgets and events. He is probably one of the most awaited new hosts of TV Patrol when rumors circulated he will replace Kuya Kim.

When he first appeared on TV Patrol on Monday (January 3), his name even trended on social media. Migs appreciated the warm welcome and promised to do his best.

He wrote on Instagram, “Bukod sa Panginoon, family and friends na sumoporta and knew what my journey was like, mas malaking pasasalamat sa lahat ng mga Kapamilya na nagtweet, nagmessage at nagpaabot ng suporta mula noon pa.”

“Thank you! Basta ang misyon ko, to be able to tell these stories to the best of my abilities. Kaya ngayong bagong taon, dahil sa #UsoAtBago segment, mas nadagdagan pa ang motivation ko to hone the craft. Always an honor to serve our flagship newscast. #KapamilyaForever,” he added.
