MANILA, Philippines – The January 2021 Medical Technologist (MedTech) board exam results, which include the full list of passers, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing school and performance of schools are available on this page as expected to be released on Wednesday, January 27 or in three (3) working days after the exam.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducted the resumption of Medtech licensure exam (MTLE) on January 21 and 22 in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Pampanga, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
The recent MTLE is for the approved examinees of the March and August 2020 Medical Technologists licensure exam only, which were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhie, regular medtech board exam is on March and August 2021.

NOTE: Those who failed to pass the board examination for Medical Technology but had obtained a general rating of at least 70% can register as Medical Laboratory Technician, PRC said.
REGISTRATION AND OATHTAKING
PRC said that registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.
Those who will register are required to bring the following:
- downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
- notice of admission (for identification only)
- 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag)
- 2 sets of documentary stamps
- 1 piece short brown envelope
Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
Due to pandemic, oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees will be done virtual or online. The online oathtaking application system (e-oath) can be accessed at Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS).

VERIFICATION OF RATINGS
Medtech board exam’s verification of ratings (passers, non-passers and removal) can be done online.
Visit PRC’s “Verification of Rating” service and provide the required information to verify your identity. Note that this will be available in few working days after the release of results.
COVERAGE OF EXAMINATION
Medtech board exam covered the following subjects: clinical chemistry, microbiology and parasitology, clinical microscopy (January 21); hematology, blood banking and serology, hispathologic techniques, cytotechnology, medical technology laws, related laws and its implementing rules and the code of ethics (January 22).
RELEASE OF RESULTS
According to PRC Resolution No. 1283 series of 2020, the target release of Medical technologist board exam results is on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 or in three (3) working days after the exam.
Note that results may be released ahead or on later date without prior notice. We advise takers to monitor release of results between January 27 and 29 or 3-5 working days.
PREVIOUS EXAMS
In the last Medtech board exam before the pandemic, September 2019, PRC named 4,743 out of 6,453 (73.50%) who passed the exams. Reiven John Borbon Bernales of University of San Agustin in Iloilo City topped the board with 90.50%.
In the March 2019 MTLE, a total of 2,801 out of 4,092 (68.45%) passed the exams. John Steward Buenavista Alberto of Cagayan State University – Andrews Campus (TUG) and Zairah de Leon Monjardin of Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation grabbed the highest place with 91.10%.
In the September 2018 exams, a total of 4,718 out of 6,070 successfully hurdled the exams. Lorenz Masajo Barro of University of Santo Tomas (UST) led the passers with 92.10%.
In the past 5 years, PRC consistenly released results in three (3) working days.
