NQESH Results: July 2022 Principals’ Test list of passers

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Education is expected to release soon the results of July 2022 National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH), also known as Principals’ Test, through a DepEd memorandum.

DepEd through the Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development (BHROD) administered the 2022 Principals’ Test on July 31, 2022 nationwide through a secured online platform.

This was the first full remote online examination for NQESH as part of DepEd’s proactive response to the need to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all DepEd personnel and recognize the varying COVID-19 alert levels operating across the different regions in the country.

Passing the NQESH) is one of the requirements for the appointment and reclassification of all aspiring applicants for Principal and Assistant Principal positions in all public elementary and secondary schools.

To determine who will qualify for the next stage of the selection process for a Principal I position, an order of merit will be used. The procedure will not employ usual pass or fail scores rather will identify ranking of the examinees based on their ability level vis a vis the difficulty level of the test items.

EXAM COVERAGE

Aside from the shift to full remote testing, the test items are aligned with the competencies set out in the Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH) or DepEd Order No. 024, s. 2020, and were developed using the Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes (SOLO) model.

The test items of the new NQESH were developed and validated through DepEd’s partnership with the Philippine Normal University – Research Center for Teacher Quality (RCTQ), with assistance from SiMERR National Research Centre of the University of New England-Australia.

“NQESH will help ensure that DepEd appoints school heads who possess the knowledge and competencies expected in the Career Stage 1 of the PPSSH and who can competently support teachers in their profession,” RCTQ Director Dr. Gina Gonong noted.
