Teacher who didn’t believe in lotto wins P23-M Super Lotto jackpot

MANILA, Philippines – A teacher struck gold when she won the P23-million jackpot prize of the Super Lotto 6/49.

The daycare teacher from General Trias City, Cavite province, ushered in the holiday season last year as a new millionaire when she won the December 11, 2022 Super Lotto draw. She won a total of P23,971,499, which she claimed at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) office on December 23, 2022.

The lucky bettor’s winning combination was 03-24-07-41-11-16, which was a combination of her loved ones’ birthdays and ages.

Surprisingly, the winner admitted she had never believed in the lottery before deciding to try her luck. When she struck gold, she now believes lotto and thinks that it was God’s blessing to her.

She said, “Before I don’t believe in the Lotto, now I can say it is true. I thank the Lord and of course, all the other people betting that made me also bet. I would like to thank PCSO. If it’s God’s timing, it will happen to you.”

When asked what she planned to do with her millions, her answer was something many teachers can relate to. “I would like to buy a pair of very comfortable shoes,” she said.

She explained that working as a teacher, she badly needs a pair of good shoes. “I deal with a lot of students at the daycare center, so I really need a pair of comfortable shoes,” she added.

Following the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law, a 20% tax was deducted from her total prize.
