Willie Revillame invites Johnny Manahan to move to GMA and join ‘Wowowin’

MANILA, Philippines – TV host Willie Revillame has sent an invitation for director Johnny Manahan to be part of his show “Wowowin.”

Willie showed respect to Mr. M, whom he described as “one of the pillars in Philippine television” and invited him to join him on his show on GMA-7. Mr. M, who directed ABS-CBN’s musical variety program ASAP for 25 years, moved to TV5 to direct the rival show, Sunday Noontime Live.

Unfortunately, SNL only lasted for three months. Mr. M had recently aired his disappointment over the decision to stop the musical-variety show earlier than what they agreed on.

To add fuel to the fire, ASAP Natin ‘To even replaced SNL through a simulcast airing on TV5. Mr. M commented on it saying, “Ganda ng move. Congratulations!”

Willie, who by now is well aware of the affairs of TV5 and ABS-CBN, gave a few minutes of his time to praise Mr. M in the live episode of Wowowin on January 21. He also recalled how Mr. M directed his former noontime show in ABS-CBN, Wowowee.

He said, “Bago ang lahat, gusto ko lang batiin ang isa sa mga taong nirerespeto ko. One of the pillars, of course, dito sa Philippine television. Naging director ko po sa Wowowee, star-builder, respetado, he’s a dignified man.”

Willie went on to share his hope that he gets to work with Mr. M because he has high respect for him. He added, “Ito ho, sana makasama kita muli, Direk. Napakalaki ng respeto ko sa ’yo.”

He recalled how Mr. M was very supportive of his decisions when they worked together in Wowowee. He even remembered how the director helped with correcting his grammar. In the end, Willie appealed to Mr. M to help his program and join him on Kapuso network.

He said, “So anyway, Direk, sobrang mahal ka namin. The door is open..Direk I need you, we need you here. Kailangan ko ng isang director na katulad mo para maturuan kami rito.”

“Direk, halika na rito, samahan mo na kami rito, Mr. Johnny Manahan. Mr. M,” Willie admitted.
